What is not a high level radioactive waste?

Very low level radioactive waste consists of materials used when working on radioactive stuff. For example gloves, wipes, old containers and laboratory equipment. It is materials which may have low levels of contamination, or which is very slightly radioactive. Levels or radioactive contamination may be detectable but you would probably have to eat a lot before you had any radioactive effect on your health.
Low level radioactive waste contains more radioactive contamination or consist of more active material I would include items such as tritium fuelled night sights and compasses, smoke detectors etc. as low level waste.
Intermediate level waste can be highly radioactive items such as gamma radiography sources, old nuclear reactor components, stuff which is highly radioactive but not producing heat.
Spent reactor fuel etc. is also highly radioactive, but also produces heat and so needs to be cooled. This is high level waste
