•    Heterogeneous mixture = suspension, and

•    A mixture that is in a state between suspension and solution = Colloid

The particle size of the solution is very small, less than 1 nm, so it cannot be seen using ultra microscopes. and can not be distinguished between solute and solvent medium. Substances in the solution cannot be separated by filtration.
