Self-concept is the self-perception of an individual's behavior, abilities, and unique characteristics. It gives one an identity that the person ascribes to herself based on reflections of other people's reactions.

Self-concept is a product of personal identity, self-image, self-esteem, and capabilities. The idea of social comparison arises when one compares one's attitudes, abilities, and traits with those of others.

A well-developed self-concept should be based on self-respect and self-acceptance. Setting realistic goals and working hard to achieve them also help. A positive mindset in a warm environment of love is necessary for an affirmative social comparison.

I have built the self-concept that I can work well with people and relate with everybody at their levels. This self-concept is based on my understanding that God has created everybody to be equal. The limitations to equality are human creations. Active humility integrated with self-praise can dismantle these limitations.

Thus, self-concept needs to balance with social comparison in such a way that helps one to achieve self-set goals.
